It is a recurring task for the SAP Basis: the data of the quality and test systems become outdated, are thus less and less useful and must therefore be periodically updated with data from the production system. This is a major effort for SAP Basis, which is also under time pressure. After all, the systems should be available again quickly.
SAP offers the PCA tool for this, which can manage the export, cleanup and import of the system specific data. It can be used in case you have a "SAP Landscape Virtualization Management (LVM), enterprise edition license" (see SAP note 1589175). But this is very expensive - like alternative products from other manufacturers.
BTW, SAP Landscape Management will be phased out! SAP has announced the end of the maintenance period with SAP note 3375877 for the end of 2027.
And doing it manually, taking screenshots, fighting with manual maintenance tasks, tinkering with Transport of Copies etc. is not an alternative!
